How does the flight distance calculation work?
Enter your flight route in the input box above. You can do this by providing the IATA codes of the airports for your departure, transfers, and arrival in sequential order. After clicking the “Calculate” button, the total flight distance will be calculated, and you will also be shown the distances between individual airports.
When you want to calculate the distance of a trip from Amsterdam (AMS) via Paris (CDG) to Tokyo (HND) you would enter: AMS-CDG-HND.
How is the flight distance calculated?
The flight distance between two airports is determined using the Great Circle Distance method.
Calculations are estimates based on standard distance bands.
